Tapestries Lakeland
Student Artist,
Florida Southern College
Christopher Worrell
I am currently a Studio art and Graphic design double major at Florida Southern College. I typically spend all my free time painting if I’m not in class. I would consider myself a realist painter being that I enjoy painting the world as it is, whether it be a pretty sight or not. I usually paint photo realistically but I enjoy straying away from that at times to try and mix and up and surprise myself. Although I tend to paint the world as it is, I don’t like to take the world too seriously and I don’t see my work as an act to bring any issues into conversation.
The location where this tapestry will hang is currently being resurfaced and painted. We hope to install the tapestry in the next couple of weeks.
Title: “Life as it is”
Size: 65″ X 62″
Inspiration:
The idea is to create a graphically styled painting displaying the industrial world that surrounds us. This is a concept that I have taken interest in for a little over a year now and I find that it brings to light what people typically try to ignore in the world they are living in.
